Ekta Kapoor’s paranormal romantic thriller, Ragini MMS, is going to be a horror film based on the real life incident. Sources revealed that a real life couple approached Ekta with a video tape that showed the girl possessed by something paranormal during their lovemaking session.

"Friday the 13th is the day astrologers research past life and tarot experts like Sunita Menon do paranormal stories related readings," said Ekta, who is planning spine-chilling promotional activities leading up to the midnight premiere. "It was too good an opportunity to pass over. Since I don’t have big names to draw in the crowds, I have to build on the hype."
As for the story being based on real life incidents, Ekta said, "I’ve purchased the rights from the lady it happened to. She will see the film this week, and depending on her reaction and ability to handle media attention, we will decide whether to reveal her identity or not."
The film Ragini MMS has been in the making for some time now and has been in news ever since its announcement.
The story line of the film sounds very familiar to Hollywood's supernatural horror film Paranormal Activity. However, the makers of the film totally rubbish the rumours. In a recent interview, Sidhartha M Jain of iRock Productions said, "Ragini MMS is India's first ever film that captures paranormal on camera. The film is not just horror but will have a lot of love and sex too. Though the concept reminds one of Paranormal Activity, both the films are not even distantly similar."
